04:03 PM ET 01.22 | Former St. Louis Rams defensive coordinator Gregg Williams is "free to pursue coaching jobs," according to Albert Breer of NFL.com. Williams was suspended indefinitely in March 2012 in light of the New Orleans Saints bounty scandal. His suspension still has not been lifted, but NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell "will evaluate Williams' status on reinstatement after he lands a job," according to Breer.

Get clubs interested, interview, get hired and then the Ginger Dictator will decide if you can take it. Am I reading this correctly???

Maybe he give out weather reports while he's at it!!! I know it's a Domed Stadium!!!

Good luck with that catch-22 scenario. That's like telling a felon in jail "if you land a job on the outside we will give you parole"

Australian Rules Football, here he comes!!!

I wonder how many teams will be interested in Williams with his status in question. Probably not too many and Goodell has to know this. This feels like a cheap shot on the commissioner's part.

Yes. Lift the guy's suspension and let him try to get employment.

He'd be a perfect fit in Dallas with Jerrah.

Free at last!!!...free at last!!!! thank Goodell O'mighty hes free at last!

Pretty damn ridiculous.

Goodell might as well just tell him where he's allowed to interview.

Ok, that's basically saying "You're not going to work in the NFL this year." What team is going to hire a guy, just to find out if he's going to be allowed to work?

And what if some team does pull the trigger, and instead of a full reinstatement, Williams ends up having to serve a 4 game suspension or something?

January 23, 2013  07:45 AM ET

In a related story, I am also free to pursue NFL jobs. Williams and I have about the same prospects.

January 23, 2013  08:23 AM ET

It's not fair to Williams, but I don't feel sorry for him.

I don't think he'll get a job right away, and not at a coordinator level.

Williams should be banned for life from the NFL.

So should Roger Goodell.

Soo, if Goodell doesn't like where Williams ends up, he could stay banned? Is that how it works?

Maybe the Redskins should contact him..
