Would have made the Rockettes proud with that kick.

January 22, 2013  06:15 PM ET

He would have started a bench clearing brawl if he was sliding into second, with his leg up that high, to break up a DP.

Sunday's AFC Championship Game loss to the Baltimore Ravens has brought out the worst in a handful of New England Patriots fans.

?? NFL Network schedule
Torrey Smith claims he was the subject of angry tweets from Patriots supporters taunting the Ravens wideout for the death of his younger brother. Tevin Jones passed away after a motorcycle accident in September, an event that united Baltimore's locker room.

"Played a lot of games since my brothers death and I never received as many rude tweets after a win than Sunday...yet NE fans cry about class," Smith tweeted Tuesday.

Patriots fans were up in arms over comments by Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs, who shredded New England after the game.

"These are the most arrogant (expletive) in the world," Suggs said.

Twitter can be a comfortable home to classless, vapid behavior. It's better to expect the worst, but anyone going after Smith for the death of a family member has outdone Suggs by a country mile.

A real class act you guys are running in the northeast

The love that I bear Brady can afford no better term than this: thou art a villain.

Still ... It looks like a reflexive reaction caused by the rapidly approaching Ed Reed. I'm not saying it was a smart move... it just looks to me like a 3rd grader playing the outfield who put his glove over his head and runs away from an incoming pop-up.

I don't see any real malice in it... he wasn't going for knees, ankles, or groins... He was just saying "please don't hit me!" and putting the only limb he had available in the way.

No. Not even close to the comparison of a 3rd grader. He is a pro. He is taught how to slide. He has been doing it in the NFL for what 14 years? Not only did he lift the leg. Not only did he make a kicking motion. He aimed it out to the side directly at Reed. I'm not saying for sure he was going for the knee, but thats where it ended up and he was definately aiming for Reed, who was not in his direction of travel.
