07:52 PM ET 01.22 | Chicago Bulls star guard Derrick Rose is still recovering from a torn ACL suffered last season, but he could be nearing a return. If reports are correct, Rose could be cleared to resume full contact next week in practice. At least that is what Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau is saying these days. "Very close," Thibodeau said, when asked if Rose was near being cleared for full contact. "Very close. That will be the next step." When Rose returns to the lineup, he will be a major boost for the Bulls if he is 100-percent healthy. This bit of news has to be thrilling for the Chicago organization and their fan base.

It will be good to see Rose back. I expect him to be really back mentally and physically next year though.

You damn right it's thrilling. Lots of people left us for dead this season because Rose has been out all season so far. The fact that we're actually 3 games back for 1st place in the East proves that we've exceeded expectations.

Boozer has played his best regular season ball since he left the Jazz. I guess we will see what he does in the playoffs

Why are so many people saying dont come back until he is 100%? I just dont understand this sort of thinking. The Bulls from the owner down has said h wont return until he is 100% so why is anyone thinking otherwise?

Knee injuries are always mental regardless of the sport. I think if he is cleared he is good to go physically. I still don't think he will be there all the way mentally until the end of the season perhaps. I also wouldn't expect him to be 100% game shape sense he hasn't played since last year playoffs. There will be no RG III situation going on in Chicago for sure lol

WTF do you mean Jack?

The NBA is NOT a contact sport as the title implies. Having some dude slap a ball out of your hands is not contact. Why do people think this "sport" is similar to the NFL and NHL?

Oops...Rose is down....hes out!!!
