08:14 AM ET 01.23 | How much can a receipt explain? Manti Te'o sent flowers to the phantom funeral of the young woman he believed had died on Sept. 12, the same day of the death of his grandmother, according to a receipt he has shown several people. The receipt from 1-800-FLOWERS.com, a copy of which was obtained by the Daily News and lists "Kainoa Kekua" as the recipient of "36 stems of premium white roses" sent by Manti Teo, 626 Notre Dame Ave., South Bend, IN. It is one of the pieces of evidence T'eo has produced in an attempt to prove that he believed Lennay Kekua was real and that he was the victim of an elaborate "catfishing" hoax that has riveted the nation. The receipt also included T'eo's message to Kekua.

I hope that this nut case never ever gets his hands on a gun. This type of person is what we need to keep a very close eye on.

Riveted the nation,, Ha ha ha.. If so I say get a life Nation!!!

I find it hard to believe anything he says. If someone "could run a hoax for 3 years on him, someone could also run a hoax on the U.S. public in which he pays for flowers and sends them to some funeral parlor and says, "See? I sent flowers! What more do you want?"

That's much easier to believe.

I agree with you. The guy that perpetrated this hoax on Te'o should be in prison. As far a Te'o goes he will be fine. He is a first rate, class act.

I can't wait to see this brainiac's Wonderlic score.

January 23, 2013  10:49 AM ET

So you have evidence of sending flowers? Cool.

What about the evidence of phone records of these hours long phone conversations that we are all still waiting for??

If you could obtain evidence of a receipt easily, you could obtain phone records. If he actually had them I mean.

Just hope he can get his lines right in the interview, he's had a week or so now to get his storey straight and memorize his lines for the interview.........pure fiction it will be.

With the receipt number, 1-800 flowers can confirm this transaction. I will wait for them to verify, because I don't trust anything this liar says. In my opinion he is just piling on more lies to dig out of and just like Lance we are going to have to wait for 10 years to get the truth.

There is no version of events which does not lead to the conclusion that Te'o is a very mentally disturbed young man. Victim or perpetrator, this guy needs a lot of help.

As for football - the BCS title game exposed that he is a product of the Notre Dame PR machine. Any team that drafts him before the 4th round is run by fools.

January 23, 2013  11:47 AM ET

And anyone who uses 800-flowers is a sucker. They are a pack of crooks who tack on huge fees to the listed price of an arrangement. Fees you won't discover until you get your credit card bill.

He has already admitted that he lied about this crap, and as you said, his "skills" were exposed by 'Bama. Any team that drafts him, in ANY round, is run by fools.

January 23, 2013  01:57 PM ET

If there is a receipt, then 1-800-flowers should be under the microscope for selling flowers that could not be delivered...they failed to provide the service they were selling.

so you think he's going to the Raiders?

January 23, 2013  02:02 PM ET

I find some of this to be amusing...

Jounalists were taken by a hoax, T'eo has admitted to embellishing his story for months... so now he says he was a victim of a big hoax and these same journalists are saying, "Well, it DOES seem plausible!" LOL.
