Getting late early in Washington

08:16 AM ET 01.23 | On the scoreboard, the Capitals fell, 4-2, to the Jets, but they're dealing with another opponent after two games. The defeat marked Washington's first 0-2 start to a season since 1996-97 and its first loss in a home opener since 2000. The Capitals are fighting themselves more than any specific opponent. They had six days with a new coach and new system before playing meaningful games in this lockout-abbreviated season, but they don't have time for excuses. ... In the second period, the Capitals continued to cough the puck up in the neutral zone, lack communication and could hardly escape their zone as Winnipeg fired 20 shots on net and added goals from Blake Wheeler and Jim Slater.

Season started late. Ended early. Only 46 games to go. :(

and in came the Loubot to save the day !

As predicted, thus far, Ovechkin looks pedestrian.

Ribeiro looks good, however.

They looked lost out there last night. Ovechkin needs to be back on LW. This experiment is a waste of time.

in a full season, okay...try it out (for whatever reason...) but in a sprint? Don't mess with it.
And if indeed it was Ovie's idea...tell him to stick to what he does, and let the coaches coach

Agreed, but I think everyone panicking by losing a couple in right out of the gate is nonsense. I realize that they don't have the time that they would in a regular season, but I have a hard time not seing the Capitals not making the playoffs, or the Flyers not making the playoffs, or even the Rangers for that matter. Just MHO. They'll catch up.

Yeah I said this earlier.... you're in a full season and in a stretch where things don't gel...go ahead and give it a shot...but in this short time period it's a baaaaaaaaad idea

He looked really good getting thrown out of the game for being the yappy little prick that he is.

I said it the other day, with Ovie on RW, you take his off wing wrister off the table. The LW is where he's at his best.

Ribeiro's whiny little act cost his team a chance at the end of the game.

Would have been fun to see former coach Hunter blind side him had he pulled off that garbage with Hunter still in charge.

Hunter woulda been blasting the only guy on his team that's doing anything valuable at the moment.
