02:48 PM ET 01.23 | The former No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft, who has been called "the greatest bust of all time," is trying to make a comeback. JaMarcus Russell, who was taken No. 1 overall by the Oakland Raiders in the 2007 draft, is working out in an attempt to return to the NFL, according to Kevin Patra of NFL.com. Russell played in parts of three seasons with the Raiders before being cut in 2010.

I hear he's slimmed down. Now he's just semi-obese.

"Comeback" usually means that one actually had some success in the first place.

Jamarfat Bust'ell.......are you even off the cough syrup and binge eating?

Hard for us to get hype behind this one JaMarcus.... Just hard.

Took him three years to slim down from 320 to 308? Now that's dedication!

I wish him luck. I don't think the Raider organization was (or is) any kind of environment to groom a franchise QB (Pryor may be in his shoes in a year or two). Maybe no one will have any use for him, but I'd like to see his talents get a fair shake.

JaMarcus Russell is attempting an NFL comeback. The NFL, meanwhile, is begging him 'Please don't come back! Please don't come back!'

This is just too easy. Even I like a challenge. I'll pass on this one.

I understand he realises that his pizza delivery career is going nowhere so he is contemplating playing football again. Any team that even has a smigeon of an idea to take this guy is out of their minds. Oh, **** that means he is going to the jets.

The first response is to wonder whether or not he's broke. He didn't seem to care enough about the game when he had money...

Will Rex and the new GM force JaMarcus on Woody Johnson?
