05:30 PM ET 01.23 | The New Orleans Hornets will change their nickname to the Pelicans in the near future, laying the foundation for a new era in the franchise's history. A move that's been rumored for months, the Hornets will also roll out a new logo and new team colors during a special announcement on Thursday. The team's new colors - blue, red and gold - will replace the current scheme of blue, purple, gold and white. With the likes of Anthony Davis, Eric Gordon and Ryan Anderson leading New Orleans into a new era, the soon-to-be Pelicans should be a team worth watching.
