Lakers 'went at each other' in team meeting

Not really much left this season for the Lakers. They (the FO) need to figure out what is best for this team and start making moves now. One thing they can do is save a ton of money by reducing salary and the lux-tax penalty. And they do have a bright spot in Earl Clark and also Steve Nash.

Why should they do that? Donate their money for a team that don't care much for them? Dwight spoke up said that he'll start w/ himself. He'll rebound and play defense harder. He didn't mention anything about offense because that's not his forte on this team. Kobe got what he wanted. He warned Dwight that his job was to rebound and play defense when he gets traded to the Lakers. It seems to be like that for the first half of the season.

Saying it one thing, doing it is another. Dwight said all training camp that he was coming to learn from Kobe about what it takes to get a team to that championship level and he has done nothing but gripe about things. He SAYS that he is going to focus on defense and rebounding, but his defense has been suspect all season. He looks good at times, like crap at times. It fluctuates. Now, there are plenty of reasons for that, but it's still true.

I'm still not convinced that he's leaving. Maybe it's blind homerism, but I think that the combination of the injuries (not just his, but that leads to the lack of the chemistry building process), coaching change, the market and the money will keep him there. I know that there have been rumors, but I think that he comes to the conclusion that the Lakers are still his best chance at the ring he claims to want. LA has proven over and over again that they are willing to do whatever it takes to win the next ring.
