08:00 AM ET 01.24 | After a lockout year, the Knicks are back on top. The NBA locked out its players in the hopes of constraining their salaries, boosting profitability and raising franchise values. A year later, owners should be ecstatic with the results. The average NBA team is worth $509 million, a 30% increase over last year. ... The New York Knicks are the league's most valuable team, worth $1.1 billion, reclaiming the crown from the Los Angeles Lakers, who topped last year's list. The Knicks' value rose 41%, mainly due to a $980 million renovation of Madison Square Garden that is expected to be completed this summer. The makeover resulted in an NBA-leading $243 million in revenue last season.

Huh............they are worth double the average....How will this get twisted around into a melo sucks and NY sucks thread by all the haters?Let me guess..<in whiny voice> if they weren't in NY, they'd be last....or.....any team in NY would be worth more.....Blah, blah, blahSmh in advance

Dedicated haters don't need any logical connection to the thread. They can just start out with NY ice cream sucks and go from there. (Besides real connoisseurs know the Hawaiiain ice with ice cream is the best esp. at Hilo Ice Cream Shack).

QUOTE(#16):

Once Felton is bacjk and is able to reduce Kidd's minutes I think they'll kickstart a winning streak again. Amare is actually playing well coming back from the injury but obviously will take awhile until he gets his timing back as well as Shumpert... I don't think Knick fans are worried too much with the recent slumping as they are getting their starters back slowly but surely...

Despite the slump (or in hater-speak the inevitable collapse) they are still only 2 behind the Heat who have been similarly slumping, but for some reason not inevitably collapsing.
