01:26 PM ET 01.24 | Phoenix Coyotes goaltender Mike Smith suffered a lower-body injury against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Wednesday night. Smith played just 11 minutes and stopped four shots prior to leaving the game. Following the contest he was seen by reporters outside of the Coyotes' dressing room. He stated he was fine but would not answer questions. As of Thursday, it is not believed that Smith's injury is serious and the Coyotes are hoping that he will not miss too much time. With Phoenix back in action on Thursday night against the San Jose Sharks, it is likely that backup Jason LaBarbera will be in goal for the Coyotes.

Least he doesn't take money he doesn't earn, and has two hart trophies! He was great....can't speak of him personally though, but I know he was always dedicated to playing at the highest level....that he proved.

This is funny, just like every time he opens his mouth. Great signing btw, hope there is enough parks for him to walk off his play..........absolutely the most ridiculous comment. Flashback....."I won't go to Winnipeg as there is not enough parks".......now that is funny. 9 years you guys signed him, and got rid of young Bob? Why did you guys not resign Bob?

On the subject of Smith. The Yotes never get enough credit for their defensive play, which is what made Bryz so attractive in the first place......not that they have played great so far, but last year and the one before it was very much the work of the defence. I do like Smith though, just given props where I feel they are due.

Yes, I was not trying to overlook that. Great goalie. Is he still playing pro in the KHL? Sorry for calling it pro. I just mean for money, not the actual status of the league.
