07:06 PM ET 01.24 | The NFL is all about trends and when it comes to trends, money begins to enter the equation. Colin Kapernick thinks there might be something to the new "Kaepernicking" trend, so with it being his name and all, he's naturally trying to trademark the term. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Kaepernick submitted an application to trademark the term "Kaepernicking" on January 14th, two days prior to his record-breaking day against the Packers. So not only does Kaepernick appear to have business savvy, he's got foresight as well. Basically, "Kaepernicking" is defined as flexing and kissing your right bicep. Essentially, Kaepernick is trademarking what almost every man in America has ever done as a cheap celebration, but now it will have an official name. But as the report from the Chronicle states, the main purpose of the trademark is to exclusively sell T-shirts and memorabilia or at the very least get a nice pay day from whomever ends up selling the shirts.

If he doesn't trademark it someone else will. Might as well make money while you can. It's a really narrow window for most of these guys. Good for him.
