'Melo maturing into MVP conversation

08:07 AM ET 01.25 | Kevin Garnett vs. Carmelo Anthony, The Rematch, never did materialize, as the Knicks' star took the high road. Once, Anthony might have consumed himself with this feud, might have needed to validate an adolescent code and mete out some kind of retribution. Only, Anthony didn't come to Boston to escalate the embarrassing episode of Madison Square Garden. ... Anthony needed to understand something vital for the Knicks' chances of chasing a championship out of the Eastern Conference: No one and nothing should be able to deter him on this mission. If he wants to be an MVP candidate in the NBA -- if he wants to elevate the Knicks over the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference -- he can't let Garnett enrage him into 20 misses in Madison Square Garden.

There's not much ado to beating sub .500 teams... Celt's won't make the playoffs without a major trade... they're too old and corky. They aint even on Melo's level as he's the franchise player of the NEW YORK KNICKS. That's bigger than anything Garnet will ever be in his life. I won't be shocked if we come to find out KG's parent's left him for dead or got abused by his pastor... the guy's too mean and angry to have had a normal childhood.

Celts have much bigger fish to fry... it's called the LOTTERY!.....

Franchise player.... where have you been? He's been theee franchise player for 15+ yrs for 2 teams. It is what it is. He's an aging player. It'll happen to melo and to other superstars of today. It's the fact of life in the NBA.... We can't say melo is elite until he either goes deep in the play-offs or wins the whole thing.... You're right C's need a lot of work. On Paper they should be doing better. Remember this is theee first time the knicks have been relevant in yrs, so let's wait and see how they do in the play-offs. Remember one player goes down w/ an injury and the domino effects take place....

If you didn't do it in New York... it don't mean much! Just ask Lebron.
