Why Upton didn't fit in Arizona

Cody Ross is intense and fierce? I must have missed something.

Everyone thought the Upton threads would end once he was traded - fat chance. They're going to keep posting Upton threads forever.

Upton is more athletic and younger than Ross, as well as being more productive with the bat and a better defensive player. Head scratcher.

Think God we do not have to read stories about Greinke signing a big free agent contract, or where Upton will be traded to anymore.

Why is ANYONE surprised by this news? Tough, gritty, intense, gamers. Sound like anyone in particular? Kirk Gibson the manager.

And there is NOTHING wrong with that. The Uptons are both overrated. Justin half loafed it half the time, and when Gibby tried to motivate him, he was offended... good riddance.d

If the Snakes are trading for players to, first and foremost, fit Gibsons mold - tough and gritty - then that is a grevious and egregious error. The bottom line is they better win now, and I mean this year, under Gibson because if they don't then Gibson might be gone himself.
While teams (GMs) try to get players that managers want, the fact is most players tend to out last managers.
While I really like Prado, in my opoinion, unless Upton was a malcontent, which I have never heard, then the Snakes should have traded Kubel who at 30 years of age is already on the south side of his career.
Hmmm... 25 versus 30. On one hand lots of room to grow and on the other hand lots of room to fade.

Orosco said Gibson was a thin skinned baby. He played pranks on people all the time but got all pissed off if someone pulled one on him. Dished it out, couldn't take it.

I'm boycotting this thread - Upton needs the rest....

gibson gone,,the difference between the dodgers and the d'backs?? the top signed players, the d'backs did sign cody ross and trade away Justin upton that would reduse the slim hope in winning even the pennant race,about the dodgers?? well this is a complete team all around should dodgers fail to win their division and fail to win the world series??MATINGLY could be gone by mid-season if not before,,,

BAD trade all the way to arizona, Justin upton would had been the best option for the d'backs, tough luck when people don't get alone in the same place,the d'backs are to fade away themselves because they 're going to be lacking in OFFENSE straight like that!!!

I never said there was anything wrong with it actually. It make sense for a manager to have players he can relate to. I'm just pointing out that I'm sure the reason was because of Gibby. He was the exact same player. Alot of the young pups posting here never got to see him play.
