08:15 AM ET 01.25 | This offseason, Oregon has more fierce opponents than usual. [Urban Meyer] and his Buckeyes staff, descended upon UO's recruiting harvest, salivating like Pavlov's dog. Dontre Wilson, a 5-foot-10, 174-pound running back from Texas, committed to Oregon last spring. He now plans to visit Columbus this weekend. Meanwhile, Ohio State celebrated [Chip Kelly's] NFL announcement by rushing Buckeyes offensive coordinator Tom Herman to San Diego to visit four-star wide receiver Darren Carrington Jr., another UO recruit. Also in San Diego, Ohio State offered two more critical Oregon commitments, twin basketball/football stars Tyree and Tyrell Robinson, scholarships after the Eagles-Kelly business went public.

I agree!!! All good coaches do this, it's just some (LK) coaches take more <hit than others for trying to "pillage other school's recruits"!!! I find it a little strange that the kid, Dontre Wilson, is from Texas!!! If Wilson is all that good, then why isn't Mack Brown or another Texas school recruiting him?????

DeSoto HS is very connected with the Pac NW schools (same school that just banned Leach and WSU).
That, and Wilson doesn't want to be in line behind much better backs (Gray, Brown and Daja). He thinks he can start as a Fresh.

And if he's good enough - Meyer is one of the few that would start a freshman....

Good point, i didn't realize that Gray, Brown and Daja were all that good.

That is true, but I believe if he's good enough, then he can get playing time, as a freshman at Oregon.

Many say Gray (Fr) is the best back out of Texas HS's since Adrian Peterson.
Brown (So) was the consensus number 1 back in the state 2 years ago.
If Daja Johnson (Fr) gets his head on straight, has the talent to be a Percy Harvin type
Throw in power back Bergeron (So), its a very crowded backfield

you might want to learn how to spell...might also want to learn his name (HINT: there is no "s" at the end)...keep trying, you might get it right, after all, even lowly michigan beats THE ohio state once every decade...

Well, that's good and we shall see what Mack Brown can do with these three RB's. :-)

Nothing ventured, nothing gained. It is quite possible that all of these young men are having second thoughts about Oregon now that Kelly has moved onto the NFL. Perhaps tOSU was recruiting all of them before they committed to Oregon.

It will be interesting to see how the vocal against the SEC Ohio State fans change their tune as Urban "Trust me when I say you can trust me" Meyer is now doing exactly what they said they deplored in Coaches like Coach Saban.
