08:16 AM ET 01.25 | Since an opening night win, Florida is 0-3 and has been outscored, 11-2. When the Panthers' game against Philadelphia ends on Saturday night, a little over 10 percent of the season already will be finished. If Florida doesn't start winning some games, and soon, the 2013 season may be over just as it starts. The Panthers lost for the third time in a row Thursday night. ... [Opening night] may have just been a few days ago, but seems like it happened around the holidays. Florida (1-3-0) lost three in a row in regulation once last season; that already happened four games into the abbreviated 2013 season. "We have to be in desperation mode right now," captain Ed Jovanovski said. "We need a win, and we need one badly."

Well, the namesake Florida panthers are very much endangered so the hockey club is just taking after its lead...

Unlike napalm in the morning, tho, it isn't the smell of victory.

I'd say the fans don't want this at all, but, Florida.

I swear between opening nite and the last few games, it's like two completely different teams out there. And I'm still at a loss for words as to the Kovalev signing. And I thought Jovo was slow out there....holy ****. Hopefully things will get better as some of the injured forwards get back to playing....if I wasn't already sick from the flu- the past few games would have had be driving the porcelain bus like Lord Irk on the morning after St. Patrick's Day.

Islanders. Another Marvellous Milbury trade. And you guys get to hear his incredible hockey insight on NBC. Lucky you. The other day I caught about 5 mins of a pre-game and he was whining about staged fights in the nhl being bad for the image of the sport...this coming from a guy famous for climbing in the stands and beating a fan with his own shoe. Idiot.

alot of teams are going to be in emergency mode. Some will get hot and all will be forgotten...some will get cold. That's just how it happens sometimes. Last year's team played above their heads and maybe now we're seeing them underachieve a bit. Overall they might contend down the stretch, but I don,t expect them to be much better than that.

To me what's funny is that Pierre does a daily segment on a loacal radio and because he's really tight with alot of the Habs brass, he's actually quite insightful and generally he has pretty interesting things to say. When he allows himsewlf to drop his shtick and stop the senseless name dropping, he knows his stuff and he really shows how closely he follows and understands the technical side of the game.
Then I turn on the tube and all his work with TSN and NBC is unwatchable. He goes so far over the top and never actually says anything worth hearing. When he does games in tsn all he does is tout which school the kid went to, who his college coach was, the name of his first pet...whatever.
It's like if there are 2 completely distinct Pierre's and unfortunately the bad one is the one that the media seems to think the public need to hear.

I've only seen him on TV (never heard him on radio) and some of the stuff he goes on about irratates the stink outta me. I think there's a reason they put him in that little box between the benches with a kill switch on his mike.

and it gets worse as as time goes on...it seems that the networks really encourage him to be the biggest d.oo.che possible.

But yah, when he does the radio segment he's this completely different person.

You are lucky to get that side; I mean if he can regurgitate all this information from the useless files (name of first grade teacher, name of high school, name of peewee org.) I am sure he has a decent amount of hockey knowledge
