Ray Lewis' trophy talk: superstitious or super stupid?

07:57 PM ET 01.25 | What do Stevie Wonder and sports have in common? Well as Bud Light tells me: Superstition. It's a well known superstition in hockey that you shouldn't touch the Stanley Cup before you actually win it, and Ray Lewis is approaching Super Bowl XLVII the same exact way. Lewis gave his teammates very strict instructions not to touch or even pose with the Lombardi trophy unless the date is Feb. 3 and the Ravens are the last team standing in the NFL. Lewis could have been half-joking when he said it, but once he told his team not to even think about the trophy, they stopped thinking about it. Thus is the power of Ray Lewis. This little ride he's on with the Ravens is starting to get a weird vibe about it. I can't really put my finger on it at the moment, but from the endless tears, to the butt-crack shot after the AFC Championship game to Lewis get a little bit nerdy about superstitions, this whole journey is starting to get stale. Not in the sense that no one is interested anymore, but how much can one person take of Ray Lewis being weird? I suppose this is a precursor to what we'll have to deal with once he joins ESPN.

I'm superstitious, he gets my vote!

Who wrote this crap? One man's "stale journey" is another man's inspirational quest. Apparently, intensive, emotional, spiritual speech-making constitutes weirdness to you. Ever been to church? Ever heard MLK speak? I suspect you have no regard for faith or even spirituality. Don't try to lay your personal shortcomings off on "what we'll have to deal with once he joins ESPN." What's this "We" crap kemosabe? Your cohorts will be proud to work with a man who as been from hell to heaven on earth and revels in giving glory to a higher power. Own your own weirdness man.

I can't believe such a stupid opinion piece is posted on T&R with no writer credit. Somebody needs to be held accountable for "anonymous opinion lunacy." Pretty clear why you didn't sign your name: At some point soon, you will meet Ray Lewis face to face in the ESPN food court. You be sure and tell him about his "weird vibe" while looking him in the eye, ok?

If the Ravens win this was smart. Lose and it really didn't matter.

I don't know if it's superstitious or super stupid. But I do know that Ray Lewis is a murderer.
