10:13 AM ET 01.27 | There are those who believe P.K. Subban and agent Don Meehan and Habs' GM Marc Bergevin are so far apart that Subban might end up sitting out the year. Bergevin, with his first real test as Montreal's GM, is not interested in trading him at this time.

Playing himself right into the hands of the haters and doubters. Nice going, kid. Your stock keeps dropping with every Canadiens win.

I guess Subban thinks 2.55 per year is beneath him..let him sit i say.....a good player from an arch-rival wants to sit out for the entire season ?? LOVE IT...argue some more gents..hopefully he demands to be traded next.

If he is close to sitting out the year, like a week away from the season ending, then a team like Boston or Toronto should sign him to a cheap offer sheet. Sign him to a one-year deal, worth like a million dollars, and Montreal would be forced to match it. Then, Montreal would have lost a full year in his service, and he would be a year closer to arbitration and a year closer to free agency. A rival should do this just to screw with Montreal.

Nah, that would just open themselves up to similar shenanigans. I don't see it happening. Let him sit, he'll lose a boat load of money and what little leverage he has left.
