11:20 AM ET 01.27 | Mike Singletary already has been an NFL head coach, but he struggled to articulate what ran through his mind before his interview for the Bears' coaching vacancy this month. "It's hard to put into words," Singletary told the Sun-Times. "You play at a place, and you remember what it was like and what it took to get to where you needed to go. To sit up there and talk about that job was unlike anything I've ever experienced." Singletary was one of 14 candidates to interview for the job, but there was some skepticism about how legitimate his prospects were. Singletary said he isn't bitter the 49ers have reached the Super Bowl. In fact, he's still thankful to many in the organization for giving him a chance to be a head coach. But he wants another shot.

To get another chance to be an NFL head coach, he is going to have patience and work his way up as a coordinators and keep his mouth shut.

Everybody deserves a second chance!!!!!!

He went 18-22 with mostly the same roster that has reached back-to-back Conference Championship Game without him.

If you want to coach again Singletary then try College, or the CFL. Singletary is of the mind that he feels a sense of entitlement to a NFL Head Coaching Job. You have to earn your job as a Head Coach. I'd take Mike Nolan over Singletary any day ( both having been the head coach of the 49ers ), remember Singletary's comment about QB's? To him they were just another player on the team.

I dare Singletary to even apply for a College Head Coaching job, only some desperate small school would hire him.

A lot of that talent was assembled when he was there. Perhaps that is his strongest point, he can judge talent.

Do you think he should be the Head Coach of your favorite team?

I want to play Quarterback for the Raiders...I'm 6'1" but can't throw. That doesn't matter does it? He might possibly be the worst coach I've seen in my lifetime...possibly. He's not going to be a head coach again.

Singletary was against the drafting of Patrick Willis when he was the linebackers coach for the 49ers and as a Head Coach he only had one draft but it was a good one in which the 49ers picked; 1st round- (RT) Anthony Davis, (LG) Mike Iupati. 2nd round- (Safety) Taylor Mays, whom they traded away one year later for a 6th round pick. 3rd round- (LB) Navarro Bowman. NO 4TH OR 5TH ROUND PICKS. 6th round- (RB) Anthony Dixon, (TE) Nate Bynham, (WR) Kyle Williams. 7th round- (WR) Kyle Williams. in another 2 years probably the only players from this draft that will be on the team will be Davis, Iupati, and Bowman. Any time you have a draft were 3-4 of the draft choices make it through 5 years on the team then I think that team has done a good job drafting in that year.

Trent Baalke who will be directing his 3rd draft since becoming the GM of the 49ers has had one good year (2011) that has produced ; Aldon Smith, Colin Kaepernick, Chris Culliver, Kendall Hunter, Daniel Kilgore, and Bruce Miller. In (2012) his draft was a flop, the only player taken that year that has secured a job is LaMichael James, others such as A.J. Jenkins, Joe Looney, Darius Fleming are all hanging on by a slender thread. There other 3 players are gone or on the practice squad.

Are you crazy? The guy built the Niners into an NFL power. Harbaugh is winning with the team Singletary built.

He reminds me of Tony Dungy at Tampa when Gruden took his team to the Super Bowl.
