07:20 AM ET 01.28 | For the second time in three years, the Eagles are looking for a new defensive coordinator as Super Bowl week opens -- and, this time, they have more interest than usual in "the big game." A number of former coordinators remain unemployed, including former Eagles assistant Steve Spagnuolo. The Ravens and 49ers also boast defensive coaches who have ample experience or are viewed as possible coordinators. The person most often mentioned in the last week has been San Francisco defensive backs coach Ed Donatell. The buzz has worn off some, however. The Eagles' interest apparently has been directed to Ravens linebackers coach Ted Monachino, according to two NFL sources.

Yawn. Wake me up when they have something significant to say about this team.

i'm ~shocked~ that some of these ''retread/coachs'' keep getting hired by other teams.....esp. when they [s]ukked a month ago elsewhere....??

I agree 100%, the problem with "the evil you know" is that it is still evil. Go grab the DC from Bama or somewhere, let some new evil into the NFL.

The Eagles have some very good players on their Roster, it's going to be interesting watching how Kelly gets them to bond in a positive direction, they are probably waiting until after the SB to offer one the assistants on either team!

I don't think I even recognize the name of that Ravens coach

Careful, dude. You can get psiatica that way. Especially for a guy who's already sitting on a fat wallet.

He's got some scary skill position guys. Can he motivate 'em right for that up-tempo stuff is the question.

My feeling is, now that Reid is gone, get rid of Vick, and then motivate the team to play, either around Foles or get a new guy. That O-Line just laid down in the last game of the season.
