07:31 AM ET 01.28 | A mutual admiration society doesn't make for a great decision-making environment in Chicago. If the decision was left to Jake Peavy and Chris Sale, the debate might linger right up until the first pitch at U.S. Cellular Field on April 1 against the Royals. "Without a doubt, Jake. Without a doubt," said Sale, speaking of his choice for No. 1 starter during this weekend's SoxFest festivities at the Palmer House Hilton. ... "I can tell you right now who is going to start Opening Day and that's Chris Sale," Peavy countered. ... "Chris Sale is the best starter on this team. Your best starter throws Opening Day. It's special and Chris Sale is the most talented guy on our staff. I hope no other guy on our staff takes offense to that. It is what it is."

At the end of the season nobody will remember who started the first game, but will remember who started the clinching game to get you into the playoffs.

Agreed, opening day starter is just for ego and bragging rights. Nothing more and nothing less.

May be - but it's nice to be considered the best on the team. Ego - yes - nice recognition - yes. And one that shouldn't cost the team any money....

Gotta love the DC area.... two hour delay, buildings open at noon. Tax dollars at work...

While I don't mind some precautionary measures... Salt the roads and move on.... Just my opine.....
