Texas loses another prospect to Norte Dame

07:35 AM ET 01.28 | The path from the Lone Star State to South Bend has a new travaler. Durham Smythe, who had previously committed to in-state Texas, has given his verbal pledge to Notre Dame. The Belton High School (Belton, Texas) tight end, who is the third verbal commit out of Texas for the Irish in this haul (wide receivers Corey Robinson and Torii Hunter Jr. are the others) came down to Stanford, Michigan and the Irish after decommiting from the Longhorns in December. The 6-5, 230-pounder is commit No. 23 for the Irish in the Class of 2013. Smythe, who announced his decision on Twitter [Sunday] afternoon, was on an official visit to South Bend this weekend with other top prospects.

Well, if Teo is passing classes at Notre Dame then an argument could be made that it's both. Either he is in on the scam or the world's dumbest person.

Norte is not a latin word. In Spanish, it means "north". So instead of "Our Lady", we have "North Lady".

We'll get there, especially if BK and his staff keep pulling in recruiting classes like this year's.
As BK said after the NC game, "this makes my job next season a lot easier since I don't have to convince them we need to improve a lot to compete with 'Bama".
We're back and we will be competing with Alabama a lot sooner than many expect.

All knew he was a Stanford or ND commit 4 months ago. He committed early JR year, and started to back out 6 months ago. No prob's, UTx think's they got as good or better TE in Swaim.
The big loser is Stanford. He's been telling folks he's headed west for quite some time.
