07:36 AM ET 01.28 | Heading into the weekend, wide receiver Dominic Walker switched his pledge from Nebraska to Auburn. It was hard for Walker to make that call to Nebraska on Friday, but he knew he had to do it. ... Even his mom was afraid for him when he made the call to head coach Bo Pelini and his staff on Friday. "It was a very tough decision. They were [mad]. They were very mad. But I thought I had to call them like a real man should," Walker said. "But yeah, they were mad. Coach Pelini said, 'Best of luck, you're going to need it.'" Wide receivers coach Rich Fisher also was in on the call. Wide receivers coach Rich Fisher also was in on the call. "Coach Fisher said, 'I can't believe you,'" Walker said. "It was really awkward."

The kid showed some class with the call. Nebraska-not so much.

Tough spot for Pellini and Fisher; NCAA rules prohibit them from discussing any recruit prior to the signing of a LOI. The kid can shade the story anyway he wants, and the Nebraska coaches have to take it.

Great journalism. Kid had his scholarship offer pulled after he took an unannounced trip to Auburn. Do not what he was calling the Nebraska coaches for??

does anybody have a hard time imagining that Pellini would throw a tantrum in this situation?

The recruit chose Auburn because they probably told him that he wouldn't have to take classes and would receive a stipend each week.

I was going to say I have never heard of him throwing a tantrum, but then I remembered how he and his brother reacted after that championship game against Texas.

All Bo Pelini does is yell at his players all the time. (Have you ever seen him calm on the sidelines during a game)? Why would any player want that? Pelini's tool, and staying classy with his "good luck, you're going to need it". WTF is that? (It's Pelini staying classy). Isn't Auburn a top program? Haven't they won a Championship more recently then Nebraska? Pelini is a tool, and I would never play for him.

No, in reality, the recruit probably saw game footage of Pelini yelling uncontrollably at his own players for every second of a game. That's all he does. The recruit wisely decided he wanted none of that. As far as not taking classes at Auburn, that just exposes you as an idiot. Also, all college football players get stipends. Nebraska players, too. Time to reacquaint yourself with reality. Also, isn't the coach from Auburn's Championship season now back at Auburn as the Head Coach? Yes he is, so why deal with Pelini? No sane person would.

When was the last time you saw a player yell back at his coach, be allowed in on the next plays, and then after the game talk about what a great coach his has and he would do anything for him? Maybe instead of watching the antics on the sidelines, you should read what his players have to say about him.
This wide receiver will need luck going to Auburn, no doubt about it, and Bo did what he always does, he gives people his real thoughts, even if they don't look good on a Hallmark card.
