07:41 AM ET 01.28 | Apparently, that "if" in the caveat standing between Broadway and Jason Arnott -- passing a physical -- became significant. The tentative deal between the New York Rangers and [Arnott] is off, a source confirmed. Although the two sides agreed to terms on a one-year contract Saturday, the 38-year-old center was not cleared by Rangers team doctors, the source confirmed. The reason Arnott was not cleared is not immediately known. The Rangers declined to comment on the deal Saturday night. It is believed that the team was aware of this potential issue and wanted to proceed with caution. Arnott flew in to New York on Saturday night and was at Madison Square Garden, where he met with multiple team doctors. He has since left the area, a source said.

He met with multiple team doctors? How many do they need to do a physical?

"...was not cleared by Rangers team doctors, the source confirmed. The reason Arnott was not cleared is not immediately known."

Can't wait to find out, but I have a feeling will be something stupid/lame.

I'm sure he would've been a nice piece. But why waste the space if he isn't 100%.

I agree with this..
while I was happy with the way they played Saturday night, they could use one more piece...would love to have Blair betts back...if he hasn't been tainted from playing in Philly that is (early am tweak0

I wouldn't take too much from a beating on the Leafs.

Boy, it sure didn't take them long to find midseason form...

Sometimes there are just no words.

Hopefully Nonis does a good job dismantling this trainwreck. First up are Kessel and Phaneuf.

I don't know, they (Leafs) looked okay for the 1st 1/2 of the game. Granted, at times it looked like NYR couldn't get out of their own way
I am wondering what happened to the rangers' defence...and Hagelin looks lost out there to me

Sometimes the older vets take insult when you want to play 3rd or 4th line. Would he be like that?

Leafs had 3 shots at the end of the first and led 2-0. Go figure.

I don't know....he always seemed, especially later, as a real "team" guy. Nard may know this better. I know I hated him against The Rangers.
