03:40 PM ET 01.28 | Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog will be unavailable for the team's game against the Edmonton Oilers on Monday night due to head and neck issues. This development comes only days removed from a devastating hit Landeskog received during the team's game against the San Jose Sharks on Saturday. San Jose defenseman Brad Stuart administered a punishing blow to Landeskog while he was skating through the neutral zone. Landeskog was forced to leave the game, but ultimately returned and finished the contest. During postgame interviews, both players stated that the hit was clean. It remains unclear how much time Landeskog will miss.

Can anybody tell me why Raffi Torres gets 25 games for hitting Hossa and Stuart gets dick all?
Not that I don't like Brad, I do, I just wish he was still in Detroit.
Canuck eh?

And the guy that fought him got 19 minutes. 2 for instigating and 2 with the shield, 5 for fighting and a 10 min misconduct. That was a 4 min. PP and Stu-rats team got 2 goals. I miss him in a Wings jersey too.

Landeskog still had the puck, Hossa didn't...Stuart didn't launch himself, Torres did...non-repeat offender vs multi-repeat clown.
Nice to see Hossa remembers how to play the game!
Surprised Stuart's hit wasn't called after seeing some of the cheesy stuff that is being called.

I agree re puck possession and repeat offender but I'm seeing a launch that needs a countdown.
Also agreed about all the cheesy crap.

On top of all the reasons mentioned above by my confrere Golden Bay, I'll add that the 25 games was waaaaayyyy over the top (at least in my opinion).

They should have kicked that crackhead Torres out of the league. He was a menace when he played here, mostly to his own teammates. Him, Stoll and Greene left town the same day for snowy reasons. Hate Torres.

Had he played against the Kings they'd still be limping.

Hate him too. Also don't want to see a guy like that in the league. But the hit per se, if that's not Hossa and if he's not Torres we're talking about a game or 2. I understand his hsitory, but 25 seemed like a stretch then, and it still does today (to me, of course).

25 was way too much even for a do?????hb@g like Raffi. I don't see a launch so much as an extension by Stuart that looks way worse because Landeskog crumples quickly.
