03:46 PM ET 01.28 | Dallas Stars forward Jamie Benn has been cleared to play in the team's game against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Monday night. Benn, who is a Victoria, British Columbia native, required permission from the United States for a renewed work visa before he would be eligible to participate in games on U.S. soil. Receiving word that his paperwork had cleared on Monday afternoon, Benn was officially penciled into the Stars lineup for the first time since last season. Benn missed the team's first five games of the year due to a contract negotiation with the Dallas franchise. Last week, the two sides finally agreed on a five-year extension worth $26.25 million.
