Adelman returns to Timberwolves

04:11 PM ET 01.28 | Minnesota Timberwolves coach Rick Adelman returned to the team on Monday and, if all goes well with his ailing wife, will coach against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday. Adelman has been out for the past 11 games to spend time with his wife in the hospital. His return couldn't come soon enough. The Timberwolves have gone 2-9 without their head coach, though it's not all a result of Adelman's absence. Days before Adelman's leave, forward Kevin Love broke his hand, and it was just one in a slew of injuries for the Timberwolves. Adding to the news was point guard Ricky Rubio's mildly-critical comments following one fourth-quarter benching by acting head coach Terry Porter. The Spanish point guard has since apologized.
