Doc on Celtics: 'We aren't going anywhere'

04:28 PM ET 01.28 | Rajon Rondo's torn ACL isn't only a blow to the Boston Celtics this season. The injury forces the team's front office to, as usual, consider all options, but now those options will depend on what they'd like to do moving forward. Team executive Danny Ainge told Yahoo! Sports that he'll continue to evaluate every angle of his roster, but it's never easy to speak of trades when they involve aging greats -- Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce -- being sent away for young, unknown talents. And it's equally as difficult to get a trade partner in such deals. As for the team moving forward this year without their All-Star point guard, coach Doc Rivers told reporters that he has no plans of thinking about laying down, telling others to write the Celtics' obituary. "We aren't going anywhere," Rivers told Yahoo! Sports outside his office. "I don't get that thinking. You couldn't get what you wanted [in deals]. I still like our team. We're going to figure it out."

not tough to figure out a second round exit at most if they play above where theyve been playing at..that said they would be lucky to make it out of the first round which i dont see happening..

Now you know why Ray Allen left. He'd be trade bait for Danny Ainge now and be facing ending his career in Toronto or something (for Calderon).

Heat lost the game. Rondo (and the Celtics) lost the season. Don't wish ill health or injury on any player, but I think Ray Allen can live with those results.

Karma's a mangy mean dog.

2 Pierce deals-

Jeffersons expiring contract and Barnes for Pierce- makes the Warriors real dangerous

Bledsoe, Butler, and contracts for Pierce and a salary dump such as Lee, or Terry or Bass
