04:30 PM ET 01.28 | For the second time in two seasons, veteran point guard Mike James has gone from playing in the D-League to finishing out the season in the NBA. The Dallas Mavericks fully guaranteed James' contract for the remainder of the 2012-13 season on Monday, following the completion of his second 10-day contract with the team. James, 37, has appeared in 10 games with Dallas, averaging 2.6 points per game. While his individual statistics aren't impressive, the Mavericks have outscored opponents by 30 points with him on the court, which explains why coach Rick Carlisle decided to hang onto the guard. The situation is lke last year, when the Chicago Bulls guaranteed James' contract for the rest of the season in April after a series of 10-day contracts with the team.

How much did they sign him for? He's played well... maybe they can now look to trade OJ Mayo for some ketchup.

Probably the league minimum...
Dude is a pro in every sense of the word. Puts his head down and goes to work without complaint. Unlike Chris Kaman.

Keep hope alive. Maybe D'Antoni will sign off on a deal that will send Kaman. OJ Mayo and some lose change to Dallas for ever shady Dwight Howard.

Why not, what else are the going to do. They're hanging on by a thread and grasping at straws. Word of advice to Mark Cuban, trade for Dwight Howard NOW! Free Dwight, Free Dwight, Free Dwight!
