Niners staying in lucky hotel

07:59 AM ET 01.29 | The 49ers can hope they're staying in a different kind of "W" hotel -- as in the winning hotel, which is no stranger to winners lately -- during the run-up to the Super Bowl in New Orleans. Maybe it won't translate to the Super Bowl but college teams that have lodged at the Marriott on Canal, which the 49ers are calling home this week, for their bowl games have been very successful the last two years. Louisville won the Allstate Sugar Bowl and the University of Louisiana-Lafayette the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl this season. Last year, ULL won the New Orleans Bowl, Michigan the Sugar Bowl and Alabama the BCS championship game against LSU. All stayed at the Marriott.
