11:43 AM ET 01.29 | The City of Glendale will not be extending the Jan. 31 deadline for prospective Phoenix Coyotes owner Greg Jamison to finalize the purchase of the team. Glendale had passed a proposal to pay Jamison $300 million over 20-years to operate the city owned Jobing.com Arena, which is the home of the Phoenix franchise. The deal was contingent upon Jamison's ability to close the purchase prior to Jan. 31. As of Tuesday morning, Jamison has stated that he will be making an announcement prior to the end of the week regarding the sale. According to Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers, if the announcement is not detailing the parameters of the team's purchase, the city will not be interested in keeping the arena deal on the table.

So, does this technically make Jamison an employee of Glendale? Very bizarre.
