Ray Lewis forgives Welker's wife for bringing up murder

01:52 PM ET 01.29 | Wes Welker's wife became a flash-in-the-pan phenomenon when she blasted Ray Lewis after the AFC Championship game. She didn't reference a dirty hit or a bad call, rather she dug up 13 years' worth of dirt and referenced Ray Lewis' 2000 murder trial as though it was relevant to the game her husband had just lost. Welker's wife eventually apologized but the damage had already been done. On his first day in front of the media in New Orleans, Lewis said he's forgiven Welker's wife for what she said about him, saying everyone makes mistakes. Emphasis on the irony there. Many believe that Lewis has embodied a true story of redemption, and would rather see him as the man he's become since that fateful day in 2000 rather than the man he was before it. Whether you like it or not, at least superficially Ray Lewis has matured into a man and if there's anyone who can speak on people learning from their mistakes, it's him.

People have their right to bring up those murders just like the NFL has the right to bury them in an attempt to make this guy look like a hero and role model who was just accused of murder.

Pretty funny you having the back bone to call anyone a moron.
Anyway's, maybe he ditched the clothes because he was trying to cover up for his friends. Maybe he did stab someone. Maybe he was just nervous being in that type of situation being a high profile person. Point is I don't know. Neither do you. Neither does the person accusing him of getting away with murder when they have no clue about his involvement.
For the 2 people charged to get acquitted on grounds of self defense tells me there was alot more to the story than most anybody knows. Especially every idiot who keeps bringing it up. I bet there were more than a handful of people covered in blood that night because stab wounds have a tendency to bleed like no other.
And most of all it was ironic a steelers fan brought it up. Some of the most recent legal troubles their players have faced have been domestic assault, felony dui, rape among others.

All of you are so quick to point to Ben, He was never charged with a crime, Ray was and plea bargained the charges down, he was charged with murder! Crabtree was just accused of sexual assault and no charges were filed, is he a rapist too? If Steeler fans have to put up with the Rapistberger crap, it's my turn to give it back to the Ravens. If that upsets you Tough ****.

I don't really care whether Ray murdered someone or not, mostly because there's no way to ever definitively answer that question.
Until recently, it was just more fun to make fun of Ben's troubles than Ray's. However, with the sermons of the last few months, and the newest SWATS allegations, Ray is probably an easier target now.
