06:38 PM ET 01.29 | After being pursued by the Texas Legends of the NBA Developmental League, Allen Iverson took to Twitter on Tuesday to shoot down the rumors. While expressing interesting in "completing his legacy in the NBA," Iverson said that the D-League was "not the route" for him. He was contrite, admitting that many of his own mistakes contributed in his departure from the NBA, but he said he was hopeful he would be given another opportunity. Iverson has not played in the NBA since a 24-game stint with the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2010 season. At the age of 37, it doesn't appear likely that he will be given another shot without spending time in the D-League or in Europe first.

His "not the route for me" comment proves he is still exactly the same guy.

Can he still play? I don't know. He's done. What does he want?

QUOTE(#8):

What a waste of an opportunity. Here you are handed an Answer that may bring you back into the NBA and you say no?

You're right, 1. Pride will stop you in your tracks. He needs to earn his way back into the league. He's had so many people tell him how great he is for so long that he probably can't remember having to prove something to someone.

Won't pass. Won't practice. Won't come off the bench. Won't play NBDL.

Result, can't win anything.
