Dana White: UFC will go to Russia in 2013

09:24 PM ET 01.29 | While there are no firm dates in place, UFC President Dana White believes the UFC will be in Russia at some point in 2013. The outspoken executive explained to the media Russia was on the organization's docket as a destination for expansion in this calendar year. "I would say this year (we'll go to Russia)," White said. "I think what's going to go on in Russia is we'll put on a live event there first (before an 'Ultimate Fighter' season). We'll do a live event in Russia, and just like every other event we've done, you do the live event and it explodes." Russia's MMA scene continues to grow and top-flight Russian talent continue to make their way into the UFC and Bellator. "Mixed martial arts is already big over there," White said. "Sambo is big over there. (We'll do a live event) and then we'll see where the market goes from there."
