08:00 AM ET 01.30 | The Bears have a looming decision on linebacker Brian Urlacher, who is coming off an injury-shortened season and will turn 35 in May. Is this the year the Bears part ways with one of the truly iconic players in franchise history? A month into the Bears' offseason, we don't know yet. The day he was hired, new Bears coach Marc Trestman took a noticeably neutral stance in addressing Urlacher's future. Tuesday, Urlacher told ESPN 1000 that he has yet to speak with Trestman or anyone else in a decision-making role with the Bears. "The Bears have been busy," Uralcher said. "They have more important things to take care of right now. I'll let that fall into place and see what happens."

All this implies is that a decision hasn't been made yet and the Bears are in no rush to make it.

This is chips for Brian. Unfortunately his age and injuries have conspired to make him a liability on the field. What the Bears should do - after he shops himself vainly on the open market - is make a place for him in the organization. People really like the guy in Chi.

Are the Bears allowed to talk to Urlacher yet? I thought the new CBA had restrictions on talking to players before a certain date. As I recall this came up last year when the Colts couldn't ask Peyton Manning about his neck during the offseason until a certain date and when Ben R couldn't talk to his new OC in Pittsburgh.

We are getting loaded up on those lately.

Sad part of the game.... I'll never forget after all the years Steve McNabb put in Tennessee, how they locked him out of the training room when they landed Vince Young.

Wait.... The ex 9'er and his boyfriend were "fighting over soy sauce" ? LOL!!

Urlacher needs to retire and come out of the closet...

I think you mean Steve McNair but your point is valid. Players say they understand it's a business but when their time comes to be set aside it's still a tough pill to swallow.

Isn't that wonderful?

And yet - the interns refuse to post a thread on that subject. Gee - I wonder why?

Well, maybe he was too busy in there with Jenny McCarthy to bother.

That was during the lockout.

You can't make this stuff up:

"The two were apparently arguing over spilled soy sauce.

Prosecutors say the men continued arguing outside the restaurant, where Harris pulled down the other man's pants and accused him of stealing his underwear, then assaulted him."

Well San Francisco and all, I guess it's possible
