Boos rain down on Pens at home

08:21 AM ET 01.30 | The schedule-makers didn't do the Penguins any favors, with four of their first five games on the road, and the franchise hasn't helped itself when it does play at home. They are 3-1 on the road but, after a 4-1 loss against the New York Islanders Tuesday night, 0-2 at Consol Energy Center. That record doesn't begin to reflect how bad they've looked in those games, and many in the record crowd of 18,657 weren't shy about offering a caustic assessment of what they witnessed. "You can't say they weren't right in booing us," said winger Pascal Dupuis, who scored the Penguins' only goal with 69 seconds left in regulation. "You don't want to hear it. "At the same time, a slap in the face maybe won't hurt."

Pens were pretty bad last night but that was the first time in as long as I can remember where the Isles actually controlled an entire game. I hope it's a sign of things to come.....

Maybe the Isles are just better than people are giving them credit for (like I said a month ago).
With Lubomir finally showing up in a couple weeks, this team might be able to have a go at a bottom 4 playoff spot.

Too early to tell but I can only hope. These waiver pick ups of Aucoin, Hickey and Strait have been awesome. They've all contributed. I'd love to see more games like last night's.

Isles played with heart and hunger, and chemistry. All things the Pens are lacking. Nine minutes of power play chance, five minutes where they could have scored as much as they wanted, and they had three shots total. That is why they boo'ed. So be it. Pens, coaches, etc. need to get the message. They are far too talented to have this go on every other game.

Every good team puts up a stinker every now and then.

The thing I've noticed about them this year is that they are getting contributions from the 3rd and 4th lines. Something they've never really had. That and they're PK is just nasty so far.
Trying to not get too excited because, well, this is the Isles we're talking about.

Puck,
Pens been putting up stinkers. I don't count their wins against the Rangers and Flyers.
Do I think the Pens can turn it around? Absolutely. But changes have to be made.

High expectations never help either....Where are their holes? MAF didn't look all the confortable in net last night. Maybe Voukon gets some starts now.

With the shortened season we will see a lot of different things. a young team like the Isles just might go a long ways on piss and vinegar which they couldnt sustain over a full year. Standings and even scoring races might be upside down. heck..Joe Thornton is doing well and might not have enough time for a collapse.

Agreed. Agreed.
Personally, I just want them to put up the effort, play with some heart and hunger. If they lose doing that, I can't complain.
You ask a very valid question, and here where lies a problem I am having with Bylsma. Example: Fleury does horrible against NYI. They put up his save percentage, and it was horrible. Why does Bylsma knowing this, not put in Voukon to start?
Dunno.

They're the Pittsburgh M'F'In Penguins. Vegas has them as faves or one of the faves to win the Cup (curse), so they don't have to go out there and play.
It will just be handed to them at the end of the season!

I sure don't have any answers 'cause I have my own problems. I'm becoming a fan of Zamboni driving. It's actually more exciting than watching our games. Next up........watching the nets being put back on.

Don't forget the turkey baster guy that sucks the water out after the zamboni crosses the goal crease that's pretty intense
