Penn State has called in its closer. Joe Paterno is expected to travel to Jeannette, Pa., today to visit Terrelle Pryor, rated by many as the nation's No. 1 overall high school recruit, according to a team source. The 81-year-old icon will be joined by defensive coordinator Tom Bradley, who has recruited Pryor since he was in the ninth grade. A 6-foot-6, 235-pound quarterback, Pryor has pared his choices down to four schools: Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State and Oregon. Pryor has taken official visits to only Ohio State and Michigan, although he has been to Penn State for a number of unofficial visits.

That will be fun! They can do lots of fun things like we all used to do with our grandpas!

They're not gonna let him drive, are they ... ?

I wanna say something snarky..but I got nothin'

JoePa is a living legend and one of the greatest coaches of all time. He's a class act.

I like how the guy with Bob Barker as his avatar is the first to make an old man joke.

PS Forever:

I agree totally, Biminator should have sat back and let you do it

January 30, 2008  09:25 AM ET

It would be about time if they can land this kid. I'm so tired of PSU not going after and/or getting great QBs and OSU or Mich always getting them instead. They haven't had one since Kerry Collins, really.

On the other hand, PSU absolutely needs to fire JoePa's son, Jay, who is the QB coach. How the heck did he get THAT job??? Notice that he was hired right after Collins left and they haven't done well at that position since (13 years)??

When I say JoePa you say Terno, JoePa!

January 30, 2008  09:52 AM ET

Ahhh shut up!

January 30, 2008  10:17 AM ET

Barkers beauties have kept me young and spry. You've seen what I did to Happy Gilmore. Though most loved me all along, no one fully appreciated me until I was replaced by a fat man with crappy glasses.

Though, PS Forever is correct. JoePa is a living legend. He is also just so old. Its amazing. It doesn't really add up.

Until he retires, he is the easiest old man joke target. Vote for McCain, and he will help take some of the old man joke pressure off...

January 30, 2008  10:44 AM ET

JoePa is the man.

Geez, 'Coiff, that was a low blow. You don't run into hillbillies here in Michigan -- we have Yoopers, and they're north of the Mackinaw Bridge.

January 30, 2008  10:53 AM ET

I played ball with a Yooper, he was supposed to be the **** but ended up being slow and fat.....

January 30, 2008  10:56 AM ET

I think what Coiff means is the potential for the billies to make a roadtrip from WVA and take a shot at Coach Rod is purdy likely right now

January 30, 2008  10:56 AM ET

Aren't still some Hatfields and McCoys runnin' amuk down there?

January 30, 2008  10:57 AM ET

Nothing like gettin' capped with a .54 cal flintlock

January 30, 2008  11:03 AM ET

On a more serious note...are JoePa's glasses fogged up in that pic? And do we wanna know the reason? UGHHH

Well, if RR hears ol' Jed Clampett's theme song, I suggest that he duck.
