03:00 PM ET 01.30 | Tim Tebow can't seem to escape the New York media -- not yet, at least. Former New York Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum, who was relieved of his duties as the Jets' general manager following the 2012 season, revealed that acquiring Tebow was his decision -- lending credence to the report last week that Jets owner Woody Johnson was apprehensive at first about bringing Tebow to New York.

Small print in his severance package stated he would fall on his sword whenever asked about Tebow.

Tebow would be more liked if he was a "bad" guy..... Like Ray Lewis... No wait.

That's America... The media.. The fans... All follow one another.
If a guy is squeaky clean, he's hated for that... If a guy has something negative to hold onto, guys hate them as well.
At work... People don't like people who kiss ass. People also don't like people who DON'T kiss ass....
It's America Bro!

I think Rex must have some pictures of Tannenbaum playing with Woody Johnson's feet hidden away some place.......Nothing else explains Rex staying, Tannenbaum leaving and taking all the blame for the Tebow trade......

It is hard to put the blame on a QB that never started.

Tannenbaum also was responsible for signing the 40 yr old Brett Favre in 2008.

Tannenbaum is gone and Tebow is still there. The Jets are better off than if it had been the other way around.

And after two forgettable years with the Jets, he went to Minnesota and was within a first down of taking them to the Superbowl.
Maybe it's not the quarterbacks that Tannenbaum brings in. Maybe it's the Jets.

Yeah, but bringing in Tebow was a major error and NFL means "not for long" if you screw up that badly.

That contract extension for Sanchez wasn't a stroke of genius either.

Much more upside though than Tim T., don't you think? (How about a GM who allows Jonathan Quinn in?)
