03:13 PM ET 01.30 | The St. Louis Rams broke it off with Rob Ryan over reported concerns with his fascination with the 3-4 defense. A day after the annulment, the Rams are expected to reach out to former Browns defensive coordinator Dick Jauron, himself officially fired on Monday. Jauron's a more natural fit for the system that the Rams run, a 4-3 base defense that borrows heavily from the Cover-2 concept. Don't let the labels and simple-minded talk radio callers fool you, Jauron's defense used its fair share of man coverage too, especially with Joe Haden.

Hmmmmm...that's the way to go hiring a DC off of the Brown's scrap heap......NOT!

I liked him as a player, I don't think 'D' was the Browns problem so much

He sure has made the coaching rounds, though.

Their defense is better than it used to be

He probably would work well with Fisher, he's been around forever and should be a big contributor!

A switch to the 3-4 could help maximize some talent they have there on D but in no way was rob ryan a good fit. Jeff Fisher is too smart for that.

jauron could be the D coordinator for a long time. I believe his opportunities of another HC position have passed by. There aren't too many things more frustrating than having a good coaching staff picked apart.

The combination of Fisher, schottenheimer and jauron should excite some fans in stl.
