05:37 PM ET 01.30 | Former New York Giants center Shaun O'Hara took offense to comments that President Barack Obama made earlier this week. The Commander-in-Chief said the if he had a son, he would not let him play football due to the inherent injury risk. O'Hara, now an NFL Network analyst, called the comments "irresponsible" before defending the game itself.

Everyone's titled to an opinion. You don't have to agree with it, but IMHO.... it's hardly "irresponsible" .

I agree with a former NY Giant. That in itself is enough to make me hate them both.

Zackly.
Obama is an idiot and everyone knows that if he had a son that the boy would be taking ballet lessons with "Uncle Rahm" and learning about the beauty of hanging out at the bath houses.

Obama did NOT say he would not let his son play. He said he would have to "think long and hard before he allowed him to play". That being said, I played football through four years of Division 1 College football. I have had nine major joint surgeries. I let my two sons play football as young men but was very happy when they quit. One of them is a marine and the other a business man and high school basketball coach. Neither one takes ballet. My point here is you don't need to inflict long term damage to your body just to prove you're tough.

Well I think our President is entitled to his Opinon, I didn't allow my sons to play Football, but my Little guy was one of the best Soccer players in his League and walked in the House with a Football Shirt and said I'm the kicker that's all I do, we all shook our heads and smiled and said oh shucks!!!

Obama believes there is a risk of injury from football and some of you here think he's an idiot? Sounds like John Boehner. Another racist.

Also interesting to note the absolute hypocrisy and idiocy of O'hara's statement considering his football career was ended due to.........INJURY! So is O'Hara moving on to Fox News or what?
