05:58 PM ET 01.30 | New York Islanders forward Colin McDonald was suspended two games by the NHL for his hit on Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Ben Lovejoy on Tuesday night. Near the end of the second period, McDonald sent a puck deep seemingly in an attempt to begin a forecheck. Lovejoy was chasing the puck with McDonald in pursuit. Upon collecting it, McDonald hit Lovejoy into the boards and was given a boarding major and game misconduct. The league determined that McDonald recklessly hit Lovejoy and needed to take more responsibility before administering a hit with such force with a players numbers directly facing him. McDonald will be permitted to return, coincidentally, against the Penguins on Tues., Feb. 5.

What in the hell was he thinking? Respect for the well being of others is nonexistent in the NHL. Totally uncalled fro and unnecessary. Two's not enough. Dumbass!

I went to my buddy's store the other day and nearly bought myself a Ben Lovejoy stick from a shipment of pro overstock...but then i noticed that the blade was just cleverly painted and finished to look like a part of a one-piece...it was actually a cheap fiberglass blade that they used to use on the Titan and Jofa 20$ sticks (but with a much better curve)

What's the point to this post? There is none...except to hilight the lengths that companies go to market their products.

Very bad hit. I think since he's got no track record and there was no injuries, 2 games seemed fair. He could have easily gotten 3. Instead, the inconsistency continues. I think I would have liked to seen 3 here just to keep things consistent.

He defintiley got what he deserved and thank goodness Lovejoy didn't get hurt.
