Smith would look good in Kelly green

08:04 AM ET 01.31 | If it were up to a good many Eagles fans, Chip Kelly would be rolling out the red carpet for Alex Smith. While that may be the preference for some fans -- and could very well be the end result -- there is no proof that Kelly has such desires. And even if the new Eagles coach coveted Smith, it's a long way from being remotely possible. And yet, that hasn't stopped many from speculating where the 49ers' backup quarterback may land this offseason, even as he's preparing to play the Ravens. ... Smith ran the spread offense in college at Utah. He ran it so well that the 49ers made him the No. 1 overall pick in the 2005 draft even though the NFL hadn't completely embraced the scheme. Now it's everywhere. "I'm certainly not opposed to it," Smith said.

First!

There's another article on FN T&R about Kelly wanting Denis Dixon as his QB. So are the Eagles gonna be tied to every FA QB this offseason??? Well, maybe just the running QBs!

Yeah, the green uniform would hide the grass stains he'd have from being sacked behind the Eagles' OL.

HAAAAA!! Good play

Unless Chip Kelly is a genius, he will not last long in the NFL if any of these QB rumors are true

I thought Kelly wanted Dennis Dixon...

They should go after Kevin Kolb.

He's already clicked on the Spam e-mail for Honest Andy's Used Quarterbacks, now conveniently located in Kansas City.

Matt Cassell would look good in Kelly green
Ricky Stanzi would look good in Kelly green
Brady Quinn would look good in Kelly green

I was under the impression that most... (at least I am)... content to enter 2013 with Nick Foles as the starting QB.

This draft is weak at quarterbacks. Free agency is weak at quarterbacks. And Foles showed promise last year. Seems like a no-brainer. Chip Kelly is just ****ing things up.

New coach just keeping everyone on their toes. It's easier than raising the urinals.

They and the Jets will get in a bidding war for JaCarcus Russell.

By bidding war do you mean betting on whether his weight will be over/under 300 lbs by the start of preseason???

It doesn't say majority, though, it says "a good many". In the full article somewhere it says it may be the preference of "some fans". It's a safe statement because it's going to be true no matter what the claim.

It's 0-2 so far on here. Some isn't accurate if it's none! I just get the feeling the Philly Inquirer is making things up kust to have something to talk about...but maybe that's just me?
