So it was that owner Ted Leonsis was asked about his team's, and his captain's, slow start on WTOP Wednesday morning. "Well, we're concerned too," Leonsis said. "I'm not so sure that [team] scoring's gonna be an issue, but it has been to date. And Alex is off to a slow start ... He's having to get integrated into this new system ... He needs to play better. I don't have the answers. Obviously I'm not running the hockey operations. If I knew what to do, I would go see George and Adam, but I don't, so they're gonna have to work it out." ... And as for fans angry about the 1-4-1 start? "Deserved," Leonsis said. "I get it."

hard to guage any team this season. No camp, no exhibition games, personell changes...
you know what, after maybe 20 games...then panic if you feel so inclined. After 6....maybe be patient

Really. He says he's not running the team, but he is running his mouth. A new coach, only 5-6 games played.

Groan! As disappointed as I am I should hope that Ted will just relax and leave everyone alone. He's right about one thing, he doesn't know anything about hockey. Let Oates coach the team and establish his own system. If Ovie doesn't want to play so be it. His reputation is already damaged and it's up to him whether he wants to be known (as he has been) as a great hockey player or a buffoon.
