04:23 PM ET 01.31 | The mayor of Glendale Jerry Weiers has rejected a request from prospective Phoenix Coyotes owner Greg Jamison to extend the deadline on the city's arena lease agreement with Jamison. The request was made because Jamison has until midnight on Jan. 31 to close on the purchase of the team or the lease deal will be void. Despite the ongoing nature of the situation, Jamison has failed to secure the necessary funds to buy the team from the NHL. The mayor has remained consistent in his disapproval of the lease agreement. Stating that he would honor it as long as Jamison lived up to his end, Weiers has also made it clear that if Jamison doesn't make the deadline he will pull it from the table.

Just offer the Suns $20 mil per to leave their current facility when their lease runs up. Give up on the NHL. You've done more than you ever should have.

How many deadlines are these guys going to get? Just move them to Quebec city or Seattle but don't draw this out any longer than it has to be!

It's like there's a dead Coyote under your porch, it's starting to smell but you just can't reach it with the shovel.

The definition of "eternity" is the answer to "name the new owner of the Coyotes". (and maybe where they'll be playing).

A picture says a thousand words, and the picture used above is no exception. Does that setting LOOK like a place you play hockey?

i have a question. I see lots of posts (not just here) that say move the Yotes to Markam/Seattle/Quebec City except one thing. None of those places have an arena yet.

So moving the team to where to play where? Isnt there really only two options if the NHL was to get their head out of the back door hole and go to either KC or Hamilton?
