04:51 PM ET 01.31 | An anonymous NCAA official questions why NCAA president Mark Emmert is making a large public fuss about the organization's botched investigation of the University of Miami.
In the wake of Emmert's press conference revealing supposed unethical investigative tools used by the NCAA, the anonymous official told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel "A lot of us are asking, 'Why was such a big deal made of this one situation.' And no one can answer the question."

People that say Miami is targeted by the NCAA are full of crap. The Hurricanes put the most corrupt AD in history, Paul Dee, in charge of the committee on infractions and he made sure everyone looked the other way for years on Miami and instead targeted innocent universities like USC, Oklahoma and Ohio St., while Miami was literally paying players hundreds of thousands of dollars for the 2nd time in 15 years. Then after this fat slob drops dead, Mark Emmeret continues to do whatever they can to protect Miami? Makes no sense. And the supposed inappropriate investigation was all above board, and on the books, so what gives?
Based on the sanctions given to Ohio St., Miami should get the death penalty for only half the violations they are accused of. And then they should all be executed for the 2nd half.
That's my unbiased opinion. Paul Dee got off lucky.
