05:37 PM ET 01.31 | In an effort to continually make the game of football safer, the NFL will have neurological consultants on the sidelines during games that will not be affiliated with the league, according to NFL Networks Player Health and Safety correspondant Andrea Kremer. According to Kremer, the move to have unaffiliated neurological consultants on the sidelines is something the NFPA has strongly expressed a need for.

Good but I 'll wait to see what happens the first time the independent Doc diagrees with team doctors.

I don't like neurological consultants. They get on my nerves.

Let's see, the NFL gives a doctor a sideline pass to a game and he's not affiliated with the league? How many times does he get to tell a guy to take a shower before he loses that pass?

They'll just take their helmets off and slide 'em through a full body MRI. They'll show the image on the big screen and the fans will vote whether the player returns to the game or not. It's gonna be awesome!

What actual authority they will have is not yet clear?

I wonder how much these doctors will get paid for what amounts to a house call on a Sunday???

And if the league pays them are they really still not affiliated with the league???????
