05:51 PM ET 01.31 | Kansas State has given head coach Bill Snyder a contract extension that will pay him a total of $14.75 million over five years.

The contract keeps the 73-year-old Snyder under contract until 2017. Snyder isn't showing many signs of aging: his Wildcats have improved in each of his four years in this, his second stint in charge of K-State. This year, they went 11-1 in the regular season behind Collin Klein, winning the Big 12 and coming a loss to Baylor short of a likely national championship appearance.

Let's hope life extends him, too.

73 is young, from an 80 year old's perspective. Keep up the good work coach.

Anyone want to take the over/under on him finishing the contract age 78?
He needs to develop a successor real quickly!
