09:16 PM ET 01.31 | The trade that sent Rudy Gay out of Memphis is bringing Tayshaun Prince in as his replacement. Once the rookie charged with defending Kobe Bryant in the NBA Finals, Prince saying farewell the Detroit Pistons makes him the final piece to the 2004 NBA Championship team to depart. Now a grizzled veteran himself, Prince is joining former teammates Chauncey Billups, Rip Hamilton and Rasheed Wallace on playoff caliber teams as role players. "We thought we'd be together forever," Prince told the Detroit Free Press. "But slowly, but surely a piece would fall and now it's a wrap as you'd call it. Great memories, great times."
