Is Joe Flacco going to be the Super Bowl MVP?

10:31 PM ET 01.31 | The Ravens' playoff run this season can be summed up in one word: magical. And a lot of that has to do with just one person: QB Joe Flacco. Throughout his entire professional career, experts and analysts have criticized Flacco as "average" and "not good enough." Flacco, however, has always considered himself elite. And why shouldn't he? He has led his team to the playoffs and has won at least one game in the playoffs each of his first five seasons. That's an NFL record. He's led his team to the AFC Championship three times, and now to the Super Bowl. He has also beat Peyton Manning and Tom Brady on the road. But looking past all that, Ravens fans are looking toward the future: what is Flacco going to do on Sunday night? If he keeps his current streak going -- an efficiency rating never dropping below 102.2, and eight TDs without an interception -- he will be your Super Bowl MVP.

yeah it will not happen. IF the ravens win the super bowl, it will be for their defense.

It might be a good idea to let them play the game first.

So you haven't watched any playoff games yet

If he keeps his pace, he'll be going to Disney World. The dude can throw.

If the Ravens win and Flacco is involved in 2 touchdowns he has a good shot of SB MVP.

Dumb comment!

If the Ravens win it's Ray Lewis, if the 49ers win it's Kaepernick. That's what the money in Vegas says.

Considering that most SB MVP's are QB's then you have narrowed it down to possibly a 50/50 shot of getting it right. But odds makers would say his chances are slim and none.

I think that you are right unless Flacco can throw 4 tds and break the post season record. If that happens I don't see how he can not be MVP(assuming the Ravens win)

There is a good reason why the MVP would go to Kaepernick or Flacco and not some other player like Moss or Lewis. Both the QB's will be with their teams a lot longer than Moss or Lewis. It is always nice for a team to say : "We have a SB MVP on our team".

The Ravens can already say that... Ray Lewis was MVP at Super Bowl 35.

Who ever wins will have their player as MVP Niners Possibly, Gore, Willis and Da Kapernacker, Ravens, Possibilities, Lewis, Reed, Flacco or Rice!! If it's a high Scoring Game and I got $300 on over, the winner will be from the offensive side!!

You know if you keep making so much sense, Mel, you're going to be banned from T&R.

Both Ravens units MAY be explosive this game, but I'd say the defense has a better chance of doing that. If defense is dominant, Lewis is the most likely candidate. If offense is dominant, Flacco is the most likely MVP.

I think Pitta has a chance....he's been a big (unsung) hero on that team. He's been a mismatch for LB's through the season. He or Flacco get the award. Same could be said on the Niners as weel (Kap & Davis).

I like this quote from Flacco's father describing his son: "Joe is dull. As dull as he is portrayed in the media, he???s that dull. He is dull."
