07:58 AM ET 02.01 | Coming off a season in which he made Bears history, receiver Brandon Marshall has high expectations for 2013. [Marshall] said Thursday he's impressed with Marc Trestman after talking with the team's new head coach on the phone and hopes to meet with him soon. "It seems like he has the ability to just bring a whole room together," Marshall told reporters after speaking at Bradwell Elementary School, where 100 teachers from Chicago Public Schools were each surprised with $1,000 in school supplies donated by OfficeMax. "When you have a leader like him -- who's innovative and can bring so many different egos and different talents together -- it says a lot and I think it's a recipe for success."

Good for Brandon, go out there and rip up the league, go get um!!!

Brandon really wants to win. He played the hardest of any O-player on the Bears this season. Was really upset that the Bears didn't make the playoffs. This story of redemption would have been great - in another city. Main problem with the Bears? Underachieving, blame-everybody-else, head-case Cutler.

....a recipe for success. Gonna need a good cook to beef up the O line.

A problem? Sure.

The main problem? No. But Phil Emery and Marc Trestman will hopefully be doing a lot to solve the Bears real issues.

Brandon appears to be maturing, along with his game.

Agreed, 100%. I was skeptical about the Bears bringing him in, but he's proved himself to be exactly what the Bears needed. And he's credited Cutler for helping him stay focused.

Next, we'll see Brandon Marshall endorsing Ginzu Knives.

You and I can hope. That spaghetti's pretty tangled though.

Getting rid of Jerry Angelo was a step in the right direction. Firing Lovie Smith was also a step in the right direction. He's a likable guy, and while he's not a bad coach, Chicago saw the best they were going to get out of him. He just didn't know what to do about offense; that's fine in itself, but relying on guys like Mike Martz and Mike Tice to lead the way on offense? That's not going to get it done either.

I like what I've heard from Phil Emery and Marc Trestman about the future of the team. Talk is cheap though... we'll see soon enough if they can back it up. I am optimistic, though. And it's been a while since I could even say that much.

Now, about that O-line...

Trestman sure has paid his coaching dues to get where he is now. I think the Bears got the right man for the job. There's nothing conservative about his offensive approach to the game.
