Career nearing crossroads for Morneau

08:13 AM ET 02.01 | The 2013 season looms large for Justin Morneau, who finally will be coming off a routine offseason. [Morneau will return] with both his place as one of the game's most feared sluggers, and long-term status with the Minnesota Twins unsettled. The first baseman from New Westminster, B.C., managed to finish the 2012 season on the field, the first time he's done so since he was runner-up for the American-League MVP in 2008, but he hardly resembled his hard-hitting self. ... Should the Twins feel the need to further bolster their core, trading Morneau would be one way to do it, especially if he returns to form and the team again flops. His name has regularly floated within industry gossip since last spring, and that only figures to pick up.

I have a feeling he's on the Jays by the end of the season. Twins eat some salary, Jays get to leave Encarnacion at DH and Lind in the minors.

I'll bet Lind shows up to spring training in far better shape than he did last year.

Not much trade value given his concussion history.

morneau is going nowhere, and the only way the twins can prolong the health and the durability playing time in the field?? twins would need to use another position for borneau,,,DH? any one??

if the twins want and wish to trade morneau, the twins WOULD AND HAVE TO pay moreau hefty contract, that would be the only way some teams could bidd for a trade for him,,,
